It feels very realistic and as if I could be reading about a friend’s love story.ĭiana is caring for her two nephews, Josh and Louie, and just moved to a new neighborhood. If I hadn’t given Kulti a shot already hearing this would definitely scare me off but this author has the talent at drawing out the slow burn in such a believable way that a reader completely understands why the characters aren’t just falling into bed together. But not just that – this type of slow burn that Zapata does is where it’s around 70% into the book and there still hasn’t been any kissing. No falling into bed in chapter 2, no longing gazes, or loud declarations of love after 5 minutes of knowing each other. Zapata is known amongst her fans as the slow burn queen so I knew going into this one what to expect – that there would not be any insta-love here. It’s the same for most people who read her books because they just draw you in and Wait For It is no different from the rest. She’s a self published author that quickly became one that I heard about in a variety of reader groups that became really hard to ignore! And when I gave in to read the first one – Kulti – the rest quickly followed. Wait For It is Mariana Zapata’s 6th book and I’ve read all of them this year.
